KIDS EMERGENCY KITS

KIDS EMERGENCY KITS

As a parent, my #1 reason for becoming prepared are my kids. No matter what happens I want to be able to take care of them. Children need comfort items to help them deal with traumatic events. Having items that are familiar to them can help their stress during and unexpected event. A stressed-out child can cause more stress for the parent who is trying to either evacuate safely or piece their lives back together. Children will not be able to carry too much in their kits so most of their essential survival items should be in the parents' kits.  Here are some items or ideas that can help you to either update or start a kit for your child.

- Identification to be carried by each child in case your family members become separated

- Paper and pencil/markers/crayons

- A favorite stuffed animal or blanket Books, games, puzzles, or other fun things to do Clothes

- Diapers & formula

- Snacks

- A small amount of water (water is very heavy) .
