FAMILY/HOME EMERGENCY KITS

FAMILY/HOME EMERGENCY KITS

Effective preparation requires prioritizing you and your families needs based on the probability of a disastrous event. Your home emergency kit should be your most comprehensive kit.  This kit should have everything needed to sustain you in the event of a disaster.  This kit should have items to help you during multiple types of disasters such as a natural, pandemic, man-made or personal. These items are to help guide you so you don’t lose your way and become hopeless during an unforeseen or devastating event.

- Multitool

- Gloves (heavy and durable for cleaning up debris)

- Candles

Once your emergency kit is created, make sure to maintain it.  You can not just put it away and forget about it.  This is something that needs to continue to be maintained.  You will need to check it every 6 months for expired items such as medicines or food.  Keep this kit in a designated place and have it ready in case you have  to leave your home quickly. Make sure all family members know where the  kit is kept.
