Why Prepare?

What Is Preparedness?

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary preparedness is ” the quality or state of being prepared”.  If you can survive the first 72 hours of a disaster your chances of survival grow exponentially. When starting your preparedness journey you should consider the “Rules of 3” which are 3 minutes without air, 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food you will start to deteriorate quickly if you do not have the resources to avoid going any longer without these crucial elements of survival. If you work towards being prepared you will help your chances of survival should a disaster happens .  Overwhelmed or new to becoming prepared click the below button to learn the basics of preparedness.

What Am I Prepping For?

In your journey to preparedness, you should theoretically prepare for as much as you can. Some natural disasters may happen in your local area that you will need certain supplies for. There are also medical emergencies that you should prepare for.  Personal emergencies such as a job loss that having a food stock can help mitigate stress for you and your family. Many types of emergencies can happen and if you are prepared you will have a better chance of coming out on the other side of it

Why Should I Prepare?

Being prepared will give you a sense of peace that if any type of SHTF event that happens you and your family will be able to survive.  If you have a family, you should have some preparedness items that will help to lessen the inconvenience of a bad situation.  Children will look to their parents for reassurance during troubling times and if you are unprepared and extremely stressed and visibly frightened this will affect your children.  If you are prepared even if it is just a few items, you will be able to lessen the stress levels for everyone. Being prepared can also be an insurance policy to use when you need it.
